CPI Property Group becomes member of Czech Green Building Council
Luxembourg / Prague, 13 March 2019 – Property investor CPI Property Group has expanded its commitment to corporate social responsibility by becoming a member of the Czech Green Building Council [Česká rada pro šetrné budovy, CZGBC]. The membership will strengthen CPI Property Group’s efforts in improving the quality of life experienced in its buildings and beyond.
“We consider the Czech Green Building Council as a key initiative when it comes to environmental issues in connection with real estate and the construction industry. Another excellent aspect of the Council is the overlap it offers across the Central European region,” said Tomáš Salajka, Director of Acquisitions, Asset Management and Sales at CPI Property Group. Salajka added: “As a member, we will be able, among other things, to actively participate in various working groups that seek out innovative solutions in the efficient administration of sustainable properties. We will also gain access to information on legislative affairs and the transposition of EU law across the whole region.”
Working groups are key instruments in the toolbox of the nonprofit organisation, the aim of which is to connect businesses and organisations operating in a range of sectors associated with the real estate market and the construction industry. Another Council goal is to instigate changes of approach in the market as regards designing, erecting, renovating and operating individual buildings and more complex urban projects. “Our objective is to ensure that environmentally friendly buildings become the norm in the Czech Republic, thus improving the quality of people’s lives. We are delighted to count CPI Property Group among our members. The Group owns a broad portfolio of properties but that is not the only thing that makes it a highly relevant and valuable participant in the discussion,” said Simona Kalvoda, Executive Director of the Czech Green Building Council.
CPI Property Group is the biggest owner of office space in Prague and Berlin, the biggest owner of retail space in the Czech Republic and the second biggest provider of rental housing in the Czech Republic. “The aim of CPI Property Group is to build sustainable futures for its tenants, employees and stakeholders,” said Tomáš Salajka, adding: “As we strive to minimise the environmental footprint of our portfolio, membership in the CZGBC is a natural choice and the logical next step.”
